We're delighted to announce that our Central Office is moving as of Friday the 10th of February. Our Central Team will be moving to the new office in Stratford-upon-Avon and are looking forward to seeing their new home and settling in at Bridgeway House!

Happy New Year!

Smoke-free Start to 2012
We are pleased to announce that our Cambridge hotel is now 100% smoke-free. The good news continues with the announcement that our Taunton hotel will be smoke-free from Monday 9th of January and our Stoke hotel will also be making the change from Sunday 15th January. Smoking will no longer be permitted in any guestrooms.
That should help with any guests with New Year's Resolutions to quit smoking!

Paul Jasper to carry the Torch for Somerston
We are absolutely delighted to announce that Paul Jasper, General Manager of Holiday Inn Express London - Luton Aiport, has been chosen to participate in the Olympic Torch relay in 2012. Paul’s team nominated him for his commitment to his hotel and, in particular, the support he showed to his team during last year's snow. Paul is also being recognised for his new role outside of the hotel as Chairman for the Priority Park playgroup where he spends his own time assisting the charity to raise funds of £200,000 to replace the buildings that the group run from.
This is a fantastic achievement and a once in a lifetime opportunity, if you want to show your support to Paul he will be carrying the torch of Saturday 16th June 2012 between Gateshead and Durham.
Smoke-free in Stirling
Holiday Inn Express Stirling is joing our Cambridge hotel in becoming a 100% smoke-free hotel from the 1st of January 2012. The New Year will mark the date when our hotel 'quits smoking' and join the ranks of our 100% non-smoking properties.

Awards, awards and more awards
Our teams work tirelessly to deliver great service to our guests and colleagues every day of the year and we're thrilled that the dedication and commitment shown by our teams has been recognised by IHG and Hilton.
Hampton by Hilton Liverpool City Centre was awarded a European award for achieving the Highest Delivery of Hilton Honours Benefits for the period January to June 2011. The award demonstrates the excellent customer care shown by the whole team who received a trophy and $500 to help them celebrate.
We are absolutely thrilled that Claire Walsh has won the prestigious General Manager of the Year accolade in IHG’s Europe Hotel Awards. Claire is our reigning Somerston GM of the Year and has recently taken on the exciting role of managing both our Warwick and Droitwich hotels. Winning the award is a magnificent achievement and a reflection of the exceptional leadership, customer service and management that Claire has shown in the past year.
Kelly Jolliffe, our Group Director of Sales, has been honoured with IHG’s Best Sales Contribution Award for Europe. Kelly’s boundless enthusiasm, positivity and work ethic is apparent to everyone who meets her and we’re beyond delighted that she has been recognised for her contribution not just to Somerston, but to Holiday Inn Express and IHG as a whole.
The delivery of outstanding quality and service is at the very heart of everything we do, so to be acknowledged with an IHG Quality Excellence Award is a huge honour. As the award is given only to the very highest achieving hotels, we are thrilled that three of our properties have been recognised. Huge congratulations to our winners, Holiday Inn Express Taunton, Holiday Inn Express Manchester – Salford Quays and Holiday Inn Express Exeter.
Our Sales Team have had a fantastic success by being selected as a finalist in the National Sales Awards 2011. Our team, led by Kelly Jolliffe, was up for the 'Field Sales Team of the Year' award against heavy-weights such as E-On, Vodafone and our colleagues in IHG's Leisure Sales Team. We were unfortunately pipped to the post by Telefonica but reaching the finals was a remarkable achievement and one of which we are exceptionally proud. |

New Year's resolutions already!?
It's only October but the team at Holiday Inn Express Cambridge are already making plans for the 2012. From January 1st, the hotel will 'quit smoking' and join the ranks of our 100% non-smoking properties.
